MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) today issued subpoena for actress Katrina Halili and celebrity doctor Hayden Kho who recently figured in a sex video scandal.
The alleged involvement of illegal drugs in the highly controversial sex video prompted PDEA director general, senior undersecretary Dionisio Santiago to order an immediate investigation.
“We have already issued the subpoena for Katina, Hayden and his mother to pay us a visit on May 29, 2009, to shed light on the allegation (of illegal drug use),” announced Sr. Usec. Santiago. “The investigation will start with the mother who claimed on television that her son gets illegal drugs from Katrina who, in turn, gets the supply from a certain Omar.”
The PDEA chief revealed that the agency has been receiving reports of illegal drugs circulating in the entertainment business citing the need to boost stamina during irregular hours of work as the primary excuse for drug use. He added that he had long ago expressed and communicated his concern regarding this to some well-regarded icons in the industry.
“We have been waiting for the perfect moment to validate this information. This incident provided us with the opportunity to finally step in and probe the extent of illegal drug use in show business,” the director general said.
Earlier this week, Atty. Raymond Palad, counsel for Halili, had already coordinated with PDEA. He conveyed that his client had signified willingness to cooperate with PDEA on the matter. Atty. Palad also said he will be presenting his client to the agency on Friday.
“Our investigation would not stop with Katrina or Hayden. We want to get to the source who supplies them with illegal drugs. We expect to uncover the trails. We will get to the bottom of this,” the PDEA Chief guaranteed.

afflicting Philippine society. Politicians have weighed in by conducting a
circus-like Senate hearing "in aid of legislation." Can anyone please
enlighten us on the laws passed as a result of hearings in aid of legislation?
The truth is, with the presidential elections looming in 2010, politicians are
desperately scheming to grandstand in order to score "pogi" points that would
aid their reelection bids.

That such a scandalous behaviour should merit a Senate hearing, hug headlines
and extensive TV coverage speaks volumes of our perverted moral values. Are we
so damaged emotionally that we could revel in viewing the sexual performances of
celebrities?
The answer, obviously, is to score a higher TV rating by catering to the
prurient interest of viewers and, thus, ensure the show's continuing existence.
Surely, this must be the height of cynicism when Show Biz News Now (SNN) hosts,
Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino, inordinately give extensive coverage to what
is patently an immoral act.
It does not serve the public interest at all.

wouldn't it be easier for a doctor to be able to acquire illegal narcotics than a mere actress? unfortunately, they got caught. like we say at work............"it's only against the law if you get caught." hehehe.

This unfortunate event happened because of the man's stupidity and selfishness. I feel sorry for any of the women he video taped unknowingly. As a doctor and doing it with a former patient, he must face the consequences for breaking the trust between him and his patient/s.
The women are already wounded and scarred emotionally, please don't subject them to more embarrassment and prejudice. Remember they are only human and obviously the victims.
The video obviously will be used by our politicians to steer away from the real problems our country is facing. In due time this event will fade out into oblivion and the country's problem will remain the same in not worse.
Stop voting for "clowns" my countrymen and think of what our passiveness has converted our country from being one of the richest in Asia into one of the most corrupt and poorest.
