Leandro Muñoz back in showbiz
Eugene Asis just came back from L.A. where he bumped into former ABS-CBN/Star Cinema contract actor Leandro Muñoz at Patrick’s Café in Glendale, California, owned and managed by Rogel Aragon.
“Leandro looks leaner and has maintained a good physique,” said Eugene. “He admitted that he has a 16-year-old daughter from a past relationship who is an honor student at a school in Orange County. He has a girlfriend, Sheree Bautista (named after one of the Pretty Pinays in California) who is a model.”
Leandro was last seen with Sam Milby and Miguel Vera (also based in L.A.) in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya?, shot in San Francisco, for which he got good reviews.
“He was with his actor-brother Carlo when I met him,” added Eugene. “Leandro sounded reluctant about going back to showbiz, happy and contented as he is with his quiet life in California.”
Leandro used to sell ambulance services (to nursing homes, hospitals, etc.) but has switched to marketing hospice services which, Eugene quoted him as saying, “supports me well.”
Said Eugene, “But after his MMK appearance and taping for an episode in The Miguel Vera Show (which starts airing on KXLA-TV, Channel 44, on Aug. 10), it seems that he’s making a 360-degree turn.”
Aragon, who’s producing Miguel’s show under his own Aragon Entertainment Productions, sees something in Leandro whom, like Miguel, he’s launching as a major star not only in the Fil-Am community in California but in mainstream Hollywood.
“Leandro will be doing a commercial for Patrick’s Café and then Rogel will launch him as a TV host of another show.”
Oh, well. As they say, once an actor...
