Miss Dominican Republic 2011 is Dalia Fernandez
Dalia Fernandez, from Santiago de los Caballeros, was crowned Miss Dominican Republic 2011 during an event held on March 8th at the Renaissance auditorium of the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo.
The 21-year old beauty, who was crowned by outgoing queen Eva Arias, stands 1.73 m tall and will represent the country at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil, next September.
The 1st runner-up was Miss Santo Domingo Norte, Katherine Cruz; and the 2nd runner-up Miss Distrito Nacional, Kirssi Abreu. Both beauties will compete at the Miss Continente Americano and Reina Hispanoamericana contests.
Completing the Top 5, were Miss Peravia, and Miss El Seibo. Reigning Miss Universe Jimena Navarrete was part of the judging panel and was in charge of asking the questions during the interview round.
Among the special guests were Maite Brito (Miss Global Teen 2010) and Sarodj Bertin (Miss Haiti Universe 2010). 36 women competed in the annual event. Courtesy Antena Latina.
