The winner of the beauty pageant Miss Brazil 2010, Debora Lyra, was seriously injured in a car accident happened on Tuesday, local media reported today.
Lyra, 22 years old, is interned in a hospital in Vitoria, capital of the State of Espírito Santo (Southeast), has a broken vertebra and doctors had to remove her spleen, Globonews television reported.
The accident, a head-on collision between two cars, killing the mother of the boyfriend of Miss Brazil and left five others injured.
The collision occurred late Tuesday at the federal highway BR-101 in the town of Guaraparí (Espírito Santo), at a time which was raining hard, according to witnesses.
