Jamie Herrell from the Philippines is finally breaking her silence over the alleged ‘home court decision’ of Miss Earth beauty pageant held last Saturday at the UP Diliman Theater in Quezon City.

In an interview with The Buzz on Sunday, the 20-year old Cebuan said, “Sometimes you can’t change the minds of people that think that way, I just have to keep quiet on that.”

“This is actually this is the home of Miss Earth, Philippines. It’s a Filipino pageant, it started here. And for all of its 14 years, it’s only been held once outside. And we’ve only won once, before me, which was Karla Henry in 2008. So for me, it’s not really a home court advantage, because at the end of the day, it really depends on how much you work for it, and if it’s meant for you,” she added.

According to Jamie, she did not expect to win because many girls were taller and very beautiful than her. “Honestly I don’t really know what it is. ‘Cause all I just do is enjoy on stage, and I’m just you know, enjoying the whole ride and the whole journey.”

Aside from her obligation on Miss Earth, she would love to try acting in theater and TV. “I would love to become an actress but for me it’s more of a passion. I don’t mind if it’s off-Broadway…straight plays but if it’s on TV, it’s alright for as long as I get to do acting.”
