The Controversial Miss Intercontinental 2014 Results

And the winners are:
2nd Runner up – Philippines, Kris Tiffany Janson
1st Runner up – Cuba, Jeslie Margal
Winner – Thailand, Patraporn Wang

Before anything else let me first congratulate the Philippine rep to Miss Intercontinental, Kris Tiffany Janson, my heartfelt congratulations. Her 2nd Runner up finish plus her Miss Photogenic award surely was a victory to be celebrated. She is in my book the winner of the competition.

Now can someone enlighten how the top 5 became a top 6? Because the inclusion of a 6th finalist casts somewhat of a doubt especially when the 6th finalist was announced after the fact that the original continental queens are announced. The organizers should have either broke the tie between Misses Thailand and the Philippines to make the results look more convincing. Or announced that there was a tie prior to the announcement of the top 6.

For me, the runners up were far stronger facially and intellectually compared to the eventual winner (who blundered quite a bit on the Q&A). In all honesty, the results seemed questionable to me but who am I to argue with it. At the end of the day, all I can say is that I wish the winners all the best.

MANILA, Philippines- Philippines' bet in the Miss Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson made it to the top three of the beauty pageant held early Friday (Philippine time) at the Maritim Hotel Madgeburg in Germany.

Kris is the first Filipina to represent the country in the beauty pageant.

Crowned Miss Intercontinental 2014 is Misss Phataraporn Wang of Thailand; 1st runner-up is Miss Jeslie Mergal of Cuba and Kris was 2nd runner-up.

Kris was also able to bag the Miss Photogenic special award.

The other winners of the special awards: Best in Swimsuit is Miss South Africa, Best in Evening Gown is Miss Puerto Rico, Best in National Costume is Miss Panama, Miss Fashion and Style is Miss Turkey, and Miss Congeniality is Miss Canada.

This is the original Top 5 of Miss Intercontinental... after few minutes without any explanations, Miss Thailand Patraporn Wang was included and eventually won the beauty pageant. Please explain.

Notice the parallelity with the Miss Cebu 2009 controversy.
Initially, Miss Janson wasn’t even a contestant. She was a model. After the finalists for the pageant were chosen, she was sneaked in … And won! :-\

Question for Ms Thailand: How would you explain the color red to a blind?

Miss Thailand: Good Evening.. The red color.. If you have to see it...Uhmm. I will... Oh sorry.. (LONG PAUSE). The red color is powerful of everything in the world and this is the mean of my culture. In thailand, we have red in the flag this is mean my Buddha and you be proud of me.

In general, find many beauty pageants as crap. Think high time for her to give up joining. :) ;)
