Colleagues of world boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao in the House of Representatives have urged critics and disgruntled boxing fans not to be too harsh on the fighting congressman, who is facing another controversy over his shoulder injury.
Youth Against Corruption and Poverty party-list Rep. Carol Jayne Lopez said she believes Pacquiao had no intention of misleading boxing authorities on his injury prior to his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“Let’s cut him some slack and please be more understanding,” Lopez said, referring to the $5-million class suit filed by boxing fans.
“Let’s not blow this issue out of proportion,” she said.
She said Pacquiao’s adviser had admitted to being the one who answered the questionnaire from the Nevada commission.
