Don’t be too harsh on Pacman, critics asked
« on: May 08, 2015, 08:32:21 AM »

Colleagues of world boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao in the House of Representatives have urged critics and disgruntled boxing fans not to be too harsh on the fighting congressman, who is facing another controversy over his shoulder injury.

Youth Against Corruption and Poverty party-list Rep. Carol Jayne Lopez said she believes Pacquiao had no intention of misleading boxing authorities on his injury prior to his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“Let’s cut him some slack and please be more understanding,” Lopez said, referring to the $5-million class suit filed by boxing fans.

“Let’s not blow this issue out of proportion,” she said.

She said Pacquiao’s adviser had admitted to being the one who answered the questionnaire from the Nevada commission.

Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone said some vested interests might be trying to smear the reputation of the boxing legend.   – Paolo Romero

Like Muhammad Ali, goes back to .....
The question now is, will he go for a return bout? :-\
That's what made Muhammad Ali a legend. Mahirap tatalo-in ng dalawang basis. Recall his match with Spinks. First match was a humiliating defeat for Ali. The second match was the reverse.
Spinks was 15 yrs younger than Ali. He’s able to absorb more punches without staggering. That was Ali’s mistake. Whenever there was an opening, he kept punching leaving himself open longer. Enough time for Spinks to counterpunch. Spinks, much younger, could deliver more powerful punches.
Ali learned from this mistake. In the return bout, he delivered only a few punches, held Spinks hands and waited for the referee to separate them. Thus, Spinks was unable to counterpunch. Oh, yes, it was a one-sided match.
:) ;)
Otherwise, he's history. :) ;)
