MISS SPAIN WINS MISS UNIVERSE 1974

The Philippines' love affair with the Miss Universe pageant reached a feverish pitch when it hosted the 1974 pageant in Manila in July 1974. It was held at the Folk Arts Center which was constructed in a record 35 days.

Spain’s Amparo Muñoz won along with Helen Morgan, Miss Wales, 1st runner up ( Miss Wales would later win the 1974 Miss World crown only to be stripped of the title after a few days when it was found that she was an unwed mother!)

2nd runner up was Miss Finland, Joanna Raunio, who also won the Miss Photogenic crown.
3rd runner up was Miss Colombia, Cecilia Escandon
and the 4th runner up was Miss Aruba, Maureen Ava Viera

to host the next miss universe? only in my dreams LOL

but i'm already happy that i had been able to host an international pageant although it was only the pre- pageant activity... i hosted the presentation and introduction of the 2002 miss earth pageant held at the bohol tropics resort and participated in by 63 beauty delegates from around the world...

the second one was the preliminary talent competition of the 2005 miss earth pageant and held at the metrocentre hotel

considered as one of the most beautiful miss universe winners ever

too bad she didn't finish her reign

she later on became a soft- porn actress in spain and has lost much of the beauty and innocence that she had when she won
