Maayo maayo
Kanus-a man ka mo-abroad, Choi. Sige na aron ikao na sai huk2Xan namo ni Tart. Mao nai among joint venture.
Brings back Koolan Island (KI) mine memories. Kitchen personnel were mostly Yugoslav. Were called the derogatory term dropkick (sh*t kicker). Same with garbage collector, toilet cleaner, etc. Had little schooling.
Oh, yes, only one Chinese cook 'coz many loved Chinese food. Racism was still very strong with asians as targets.
Every now and then, there were Aussies and Poms (English) but didn't stay long. Usually less than a year. Then, some went to Thailand or Philippines(Subic Bay and Angeles City) and opened niteclubs.
Was also like that in other mines. Kitchen personnel, garbage collectors and the like came from 3rd world European countries like Yugoslav, Poland, Slovakia, etc. They stayed long in the mines 'coz difficult for them to survive in the city. Lack fluency in English and poorly educated.
Why Yugoslav in KI? History. A handful of Yugoslav at first. Then, chain reaction followed. Whenever there's vacancy recommended someone from Yugoslavia.
Similar chain reaction could happen for Boholanos in a newly opened mine.
The question is, are you, Felix, RJ and some others gonna be the triggers for the chain reaction?
Can hear you saying, "Ayao ko!
Know you guys strongly resent this. But that’s Philippine cultural value and attitude. Sa Binisaya pa, “Kayo-an. Bisag unsa lai pangayo-on. Kon balibaran, magbagolbol. Boyboyon dayon”. Hehehe.
I'm sure that whenever skipper goes home, kanang iyang Calvin Klein nga bref, bsag angso kaaug baho, panagayo-on ghapon.
As the saying goes, "The most candid statement is almost always the most unpleasant statement."
