whats it like to be in love
i used to understand....
i felt the world was at my reach
if i just held out my hand......
my heart would race, my palms would sweat
just waiting for her voice......
for her to say she loved me dear,
that was her only choice.....
i used to know just how it felt
to be someone worthwhile...
to know that someones out there
i could make somebody smile...
and it didn't matter how i looked
or what i knew in life....
nor where i lived, or how i spoke
not even my trails and strife....
it felt so good to have someone
appreciate who i was....
to overlook my wrongs and flaws
to talk to me just because....
i used to know how heaven felt
right here on earth and true.....
but darkness came and bliss was lost
the moment that i lost you.......
