I don't get some people.  why would anyone "boo" her?  she just answered the question and gave her opinion along with how she was raised and her beliefs.  as long as she's not hurting herself or anyone, then, she's good to go.

I agree with you. But unfortunately, you don't always have the freedom to say what you feel or what you believe in.

my platform as a beauty queen is embracing every individual's diversity, including differences in views and opinions. but in the case of miss california carrie prejean, i have doubts about her integrity and sincerity and she has a long way to prove that i'm wrong.

yeah, there's always that one person that's ignorant enough not to want to learn from others or even respect others' opinion.  although, that happens in utopia............ and ours isn't.  too bad! :(

one thing I know in cases like interviews or contests, is that anyone and everyone would say pretty much what most would like to hear just so they would have a chance to land whatever it is they are aspiring for.......... unfortunately.  that's just human nature.  I, myself even pad my answers during my interviews to get this profession I'm in.  hehehe. ;D 8)

Carrie Prejean -- Clear My Name or I'll Sue

by TMZ Staff

Carrie Prejean says she means business. She's giving the Miss California USA team one last chance to clear her name -- or she's gonna sue.

In a letter Prejean's lawyer fired off to the lawyer representing pageant honcho Keith Lewis, the attorney says Lewis defamed her by making her seem uncooperative and difficult to deal with. He did not address Donald Trump's comment to us ... that Carrie treated people "like s**t."

The letter also accused Lewis of using Carrie to push a gay agenda.

And here's the best part ... Carrie's lawyer says Lewis had no right to release her confidential medical information -- aka, a boob job.

The letter claims Carrie has suffered "severe emotional distress." If Lewis doesn't recant his comments, Carrie's lawyer promises a lawsuit.

UPDATE: Keith Lewis gave TMZ the following statement: "Mr. Limandri obviously has never watched "THE APPRENTICE" if he believes that Mr Trump could be so easily fooled. Facts are facts and we stand by them. No matter what strong wind the General Council of NOM will blow, Our vest of truth will stay on." TMZ, USA, 19.06.09

    * "Please view this letter as a last opportunity" to retract statements, LiMandri writes

By Alan Duke - CNN

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Carrie Prejean's lawyer gave Miss California USA executive director Keith Lewis what he said was a final warning to retract statements made about the former beauty queen or face a defamation lawsuit.

The lawyer for former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, says the ousted beauty queen's good name is "tarnished."

Prejean, stripped of the Miss California USA title last week, "suffered severe emotional distress" and her reputation was harmed by Lewis, Charles LiMandri said in a letter sent Thursday to Lewis' lawyer.

LiMandri's letter also accused Lewis, whom he referred to as a "gay activist," of setting Prejean up to be fired because of her statements opposing same-sex marriage.

When Prejean, 22, was dethroned, Lewis said it was for "contract violations," including missed public appearances.

He told CNN's Larry King last week that it wasn't one thing Prejean did, but "many, many, many things."

"She came to us and said I'm not interested in your input; I'll make my own decision what I'm going to do," Lewis said. "You know, when you have a contract, when you're working for someone, you have a responsibility to follow through on what that requirement is."

Lewis told King it was clear "she was not interested in upholding the title or the responsibilities."

"Carrie Prejean's good name has been tarnished by your client's false and defamatory accusations," the letter from her lawyer to Lewis' said.

"Please view this letter as a last opportunity for Mr. Lewis to retract the defamatory statements made against my client and to seek to restore her good name," LiMandri said. "If he does not comply, I will have no alternative but to recommend that Ms. Prejean proceed to do so through litigation."

In response to the letter, Lewis issued a statement that said: "Mr. LiMandri obviously has never watched 'The Apprentice' if he believes that Mr. Trump could be so easily fooled. Facts are facts, and we stand by them."

LiMandri denied any contract violations, saying it was a "complete and utter pretext" for her firing.

The list Lewis gave to reporters of Prejean's missed appearances was "an outright fraud," he said.

Prejean "did not refuse reasonable appearance requests" that could "be expected to promote and further the intended purposes of Miss California USA," he said.

The beauty queen expected to be asked to attend "Rotary conventions and avocado festivals," not events Lewis suggested, LiMandri said.

"She did not think it was appropriate for her to accept Mr. Lewis' invitation to attend a gay documentary in Hollywood promoting same-sex marriage," he said. "It was not my client's job, as Miss California, simply to help your client promote his personal or business interests as a Hollywood agent and producer, or gay activist."

He accused Lewis of trying to make commissions off Prejean's appearances.

"Your client was trying to wrongfully profit off of my client's participation as Miss California, in violation of her contract, by taking 20 percent of any appearance fee she would earn, such as at the Las Vegas jewelers convention she attended at his request," LiMandri's letter said.

LiMandri cited a statement he said Lewis made during a May 15 conference call that "clearly shows that your client was trying to 'set-up' our client for termination" by relaying an offer to appear semi-nude in Playboy. Three people who worked for a public relations agency representing Prejean at the time heard it, he said.

"All three of those people distinctly remember Keith Lewis talking about sending Ms. Prejean an offer to do a Playboy photo shoot 'so when they take her title away, she doesn't sue me,' " he said.

LiMandri said Lewis -- and former co-executive director Shanna Moakler -- were "bound and determined to get her fired, and they have now finally gotten their way."

Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump announced last month that Prejean could keep her title despite a controversy over topless photos, missed appearances and her statements against same-sex marriage.

Trump reversed himself last week.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA organization, and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said. "Unfortunately, it just doesn't look like it is going to happen, and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision." CNN, USA, 19.06.09

Carrie Prejean Turns Up Legal Heat on Pageant Officials

by Natalie Finn

UPDATE: On Friday, Keith Lewis released a terse statement in response to LiMandri's letter.

"Mr. LiMandri obviously has never watched The Apprentice if he believes that Mr. Trump could be so easily fooled. Facts are facts and we stand by them. No matter what strong wind the General Council of the National Organization on Marriage will blow, our vest of truth will stay on."

Carrie Prejean insists she didn't shirk her duties as Miss California—and she wants to make sure the people she might sue know it.

In a letter dated Thursday, attorney Charles LiMandri details what his client did not do to violate her contract en route to being stripped of her title last week, a month after Miss Universe Organization honcho Donald Trump gave her a pass on those racy pics.

LiMandri's letter echoes the theory he shared with E! News about his client falling prey to a politically charged plot to take away her crown.

According to the lawyer, Prejean never made unauthorized solo appearances as pageant director Keith Lewis alleges; and, as for the events she was supposedly supposed to appear at, Prejean wasn't even guaranteed entry at some of them.

View the letter

"There is no indication that those would be official events that pageant winners would actually wear their tiaras and sashes," he wrote, referring to the list of events that was sent to his client.

"None of the events listed on the Hollywood News Calendar were invitations to Carrie Prejean or anyone else."

The Hollywood News Calendar is a roundup of goings-on around town, many of which are nonexclusive and open to the public. The events Prejean turned down were from that itinerary, LiMandri says.

Also attached to the correspondence was a letter from Lewis' secretary to Prejean, in which she wrote, "Let me know if there are any events that you would like to attend and we'll do our best to get you in. The more notice the better."

LiMandri also addressed the invitation to pose for Playboy that was extended to Prejean. The attorney states that three people on a May 15 conference call recall Lewis saying he offered the job to Prejean "so when they take her title away, she doesn't sue me."

LiMandri sums up by demanding that Lewis retracts the "defamatory statements" made about Prejean not living up to her contract.

"If he does not comply, I will have no alternative but to recommend that Ms. Prejean proceed to do so through litigation," he concluded. E! Online, USA, 19.06.09

The Carrie Prejean Papers
Lynn Sweet

Most of the time, I look for stories. Sometimes a story finds me.

On Monday afternoon, I was in the make-up room at FOX News. I was booked on a segment about Rod Blagojevich, the impeached Illinois governor, who has been sued over an alleged deal for race tracks in exchange for campaign cash. He is also awaiting trial on federal corruption charges.

I glanced at the woman in the chair next to me. She looked familiar. Not someone I usually cover.

"Are you Carrie Prejean?" I asked.

She was.

Prejean, the former controversy-plagued Miss California, was there to be a guest on FOX's Greta Van Susteren's "On the Record" days after being stripped of her Miss California crown by Donald Trump's organization, the Miss USA Pageant.
.
The chatter in the room was about hair and make-up, nothing heavy. I could not linger because I had a live shot coming up. But before I headed to the studio, I introduced myself to Prejean's PR person and handed her my card.

One just never knows.

So Thursday afternoon, what lands in my e-mail, but pages of letters and memos and e-mail exchanges having to do with Prejean's Miss California performance and public appearances. The packet was put together by her attorney, Charles LiMandri.

The gist of LiMandri's overview letter: Prejean was a victim of retaliation because of her views on traditional marriage. She did not sign an unauthorized book deal. She did not refuse assignments. Her good name has been tarnished. Politics Daily, USA, 19.06.09

Entertainment Props Betting - Carrie Prejean's Next Move

  by Charles Jay

CARRIE ON

Yeah, Carrie Prejean got screwed. If her parents are reading this, I don't mean literally, I mean figuratively. Perez Hilton, that naughty girl, set a little trap for her at the Miss USA pageant, and that pretty much burned her with the judges. The message - don't express your beliefs about gay marriage, or you can't be a beauty queen. They tried to strip her, and Donald Trump (who owns everything) stood up for her, then threw her under the bus a month later. It's a mess, but like many messes in the world of popular culture, you can bet on it.

Here are some of the props as they appear at BetUS Sportsbook:

CARRIE PREJEAN TO APPEAR NAKED IN A MENS MAGAZINE

Yes +250

No -400

Note: Carrie Prejean must have a new photoshoot and appear nude before 2011 for yes to be the winner.

Yeah, they found those "semi-nude" pictures of Prejean, which she claims are from when she was 17 years old, but I would think that hardly opens her up as a candidate to pose nude in a men's magazine. After all, was it not her refusal to do certain "appearances," including a photo shoot for Playboy, that ostensibly led to her getting the crown stripped from her? I mean, I have heard of "career transformation," but this would seem a little extreme for me. This is not Darva Conger we're talking about here. After disavowing those pictures as something that was the foolishness of a kid, it would look pretty silly for her to turn around and do a nude spread, which I imagine is what would be required at this point. NO (-400)

WHICH MENS MAGAZINE WILL CARRIE PREJEAN POSE NUDE?

Playboy -400

Penthouse +200

Hustler +800

Swank +1000

High Society +1200

Note: Prejean must do a new photoshoot and appear in an upcoming publication before 2011 for wagers to have action.

Okay, I'll play that game. IF Carrie Prejean WAS to agree to pose nude, which magazine would she do it with? What I'm wondering is, why don't we have "none of the above" as one of the options? Hey, it could be Gent, or Velvet, or Score, or Gallery, or Oui, or, if she really wanted to go international, it could be Knave, or Fiesta, or Urecco, or Manga Buriko, or Club International. If she wanted to target the African-American audience, should could pose for King, and if she wanted to go Latin, it could be Caballero down in Mexico, or if she really wanted to be daring, she could do Butt Magazine, which caters to an audience that really must hate her by now.

I guess the only one that wouldn't be a possibility is Perfect 10, since, well, she had those breast implants paid for by the Miss California USA pageant. I suppose there's nothing in the Bible against them.

Okay, if you force my hand, I'll say PENTHOUSE, at +200, since Playboy already got the finger from her.

CARRIE PREJEAN SHARES A STAGE WITH SARAH PALIN

Yes in 2009 -200

Not before 2010 +150

Note: Carrie Prejean and Sarah Palin must appear on stage in public together before 2010 for yes to be the winner.

I don't think this is offered as something that is tongue-in-cheek, and it shouldn't be. I see this as a real possibility, given Palin's penchant for reaching at the emotional core of the far right and her utter disregard for freedom of marriage. Plus, she's a cheap opportunist. Maybe she can teach Prejean a thing or two. YES (-200)

WILL CARRIE PREJEAN BECOME A FOX NEWS REPORTER

Yes +350

Note: Prejean must accept a full time position as a fox news reporter before 2011 for yes to be a winner.

Wow -- I was just going to suggest that. How about a fancy title - "Special Cultural Correspondent for the Sean Hannity Show." That sounds like it fits. YES! (+350)

PREJEAN TO MARCH IN A GAY PRIDE PARADE BEFORE 2011

Yes +400

Note: Prejean must publically appear in a gay pride parade before 2011 for yes to be a winner.

Only if her life/career assumes the following pattern: she gets some Fox airtime, some pep talks from Hannity, O'Reilly and the rest of the "Christian" conservative soldiers over there, shapes herself into a politician of sorts, then has to "move toward the center" to get some of the undecided’s. Then again, that will happen only if she wants to run under the Democratic banner, which Fox more or less prohibits. More than likely, she'd act like they have cooties, so she might as well stay away.

WILL CARRIE PREJEAN APPEAR ON THE APPRENTICE

Yes +300

Note: Prejean must appear as a contestant on the apprentice before 2011 for yes to be the winner.

I couldn't go with a "yes" here. She already turned down a chance to go on "I'm a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here." She just doesn't like "reality." Besides, didn't Trump fire her already?

Check back tomorrow; we could have changes. BetUs.com, usa, 19.06.09

Shanna Moakler Moseying Back to Miss Cali?

by Gina Serpe

Don't shoot the messenger—or, since there's apparently some confusion on the matter, the dog.

A month after Shanna Moakler resigned in protest from her post as the Miss California pageant codirector, the former beauty queen tells E! News she's ready and willing to once again mentor the tiara-wearing masses and resume her pageant duties, should her services be so requested.

"If Donald Trump gives his blessing, I'll be back in a heartbeat," Moakler says.

Moakler, who groused about Carrie Prejean's failure to live up to her contract, was seemingly vindicated last week, when Trump reversed his earlier decision and agreed with state pageant director Keith Lewis to fire Prejean.

Neither Trump nor Lewis immediately returned calls seeking comment on Moakler's desire to return.

Meanwhile, Moakler says she is ready to recommit to the Miss Universe universe now that she believes its credibility has been restored, and she also praises Prejean's replacement, new Miss California Tami Farrell.

Says Moakler: "She actually shows up for work." E! Online, 19.06.09
