Just want to add the oriental horoscope. Hope nobody minds.
The Chinese calendar follows the lunar cycle. Chinese New Year occurs anytime between late Jan and early Mar.
The oriental horoscope has a 12-yr cycle representing the 12 animals that visited Buddha in his death chamber. The order of their arrival is as follows: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
Actually, the Ox should have arrived first. But, upon reaching the chamber door, the Rat, who was riding on top of the Ox, jump down and sneak inside the chamber ahead of the Ox.
Next year is the year of the Tiger.
