3 Ways to Burn More Fat
By Roger G Brown

You may know already that in our quest for a flat stomach, it is impossible to target fat loss. - our bodies are like furnaces that consume calories from fat all over.

It would be great if you could just tell your body which fat to get rid of, but that is fantasy land. Luckily for us, the solution to reducing fat is straightforward.

First, 3 notes/reality adjustments to consider in formulating our flat stomach goals....

1. We would rather not hear this, but as we age, our skin loses elasticity and it becomes more difficult to avoid the appearance of flab.

2. If we aren't proactive with some weight training, our muscle mass also declines.

3. Our metabolism slows down making it more difficult to burn the fat.

Maybe not a six pack but, having a flat stomach is a doable goal at any age and here are 3 powerful little tips on how to achieve it with the least effort:

1. Pump your Cardio by adding one session per week

I know you are probably doing cardio already, but adding even 30 minutes a week to your schedule will chip away at your weight and reduce fat.

Almost any exercise that elevates heart rate, whether it be walking, stairmaster, running, biking will work. Your metabolism increases and you will burn calories and fat.

2. Pump Iron one day more per week

Make sure that you are doing at least some weight training 2-3 times a week for not more than 30 minutes per visit to the gym.

Weight training fights back against your body's tendency to lose muscle mass as you age.

If you are already working out now, just add a set to your existing routine.

3. Un-pump your Diet by taking away one thing

Drop a 400 calorie latte a week. By that one act alone you will lose 6 pounds in the next 12 months.

Finding one comfort food item to cut out of your routine is a very powerful strategy because they tend to be calorie bombs.

A soda has 300-350 calories and most any specialty drink at a coffee shop has over 400 calories. That one difference will slowly but surely chip away at the pounds.

Dramatic, long-term fat loss results will come from making very small changes to your routine.

The key to dropping your fat % is to keep thinking about adding those small changes to your routine. You don't have to radically change your life to get results - just add to what you are already doing.

The key is starting NOW. Working on flattening your stomach is like a vitamin B-12 shot for your self-esteem and overall health.
